Warning This book is not for children. Richard Moore seems to be one of those geniuses bordering on insane... or maybe he really is just insane. In any event, Are You My Victim is a creative and funny book about a vampire who travels through the countryside in search of a decent meal. Of course in the author's created world (or real life if you live in Los Angeles), there's hardly a character without his blood polluted by extreme delinquent behavior.
Now the plot alone wouldn't make this book so worth reading, but style is really GREAT. The contrast of children-book characters with "adult" personalities (a high cartoon duck who looks eerily familiar) as well as grown up rhymes with Dr. Seuss rhythm make this a book more than just intriguing.
By far the best part of this book is watching people's faces as they skim through it. People usually find it entertaining, but those that don't provide at least as entertaining reactions to it. I'm not sure if the book is supposed to be cult art, but it definitely makes a great gift for teens and adults who aren't afraid to sometimes be a little less grown up.
